Handcrafted by Gus Szamboti from 1969 until his passing in 1988, and later continued by his son Barry Szamboti, these cues are revered for their flawless construction, distinct aesthetics, and unmatched hit quality.

Key Identification & Authentication Traits
- The Joint and Pin: Gus almost exclusively utilized a 5/16-14 stainless steel pin with a piloted joint.
- The Forearm Points: His forearms feature iconic, long veneered points—often measuring 4 inches or longer from the bottom of the joint collar.
- Delrin Butt Caps: Many original “Babushka” style cues featured butt caps constructed from Delrin (often referred to historically by players as Deleon), which were left unfinished because clear coat finishes do not adhere to the material.
- The Ferrules: Standard original shafts came equipped with ivory ferrules unless a buyer specifically requested a different material.
